Rest is not laziness when your body has been surviving.
If youāre used to being productive, useful, or constantly on, rest can feel uncomfortable. You sit down and immediately think of everything you should be doing. You feel guilty for slowing down. You feel like you have to earn the right to pause.
Chronic survival mode can train your nervous system to confuse stillness with danger. If your worth has been tied to performance, rest may feel irresponsible even when your body desperately needs it.
Youāve been running on stress, adrenaline, and the fear of disappointing people for so long that your body doesnāt know how to be still anymore.
Your body has been in survival mode. And survival mode was never meant to be permanent. Rest is part of the healing.
Your nervous system deserves care too.

Today we honor all the ways fatherhood shows up ā dads, stepdads, grandfathers, foster dads, bonus dads, single dads, and father figures.
We also hold space for those who may feel grief, distance, or complicated emotions today.

Start noticing how you feel after interacting with people, and use that information accordingly.
