Today, we remember.
On this day, we honor the 49 beautiful souls who were taken from us far too soon at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. A place that was meant to be a sanctuary full of love, music, and pride became the site of unimaginable tragedy.

We say their names. We carry their memory.

This was not just an attack on the LGBTQ+ community it was an attack on love, on freedom, and on the right to simply exist as who you are.

As we remember the lives lost, we recommit ourselves to building a world where hate has no home. A world where safety is not a privilege. A world where Pride is protected, and love always wins.

To the victims, the survivors, and their families, we will never forget you. We will never stop fighting for you.

You know it, and I know it. Republicans aren’t just failing to govern, they’re actively hurting us.
We live in the 21st century. People deserve clean air, safe drinking water, and basic human rights but the GOP is too busy protecting profits to care about people.

Here’s what they’re really doing:
• Blocking clean water and air protections while their donors pollute without consequences.

• Letting reinsurers rake in hundreds of millions, while Florida families see their insurance rates skyrocket. You’re paying them and they’re laughing to the bank.

• Attacking bodily autonomy trying to control your healthcare decisions, your body, your freedom.

They’re not governing, they're pillaging.
Meanwhile, I’m running on a platform that puts people first:
● A government that meets your needs

● Protection of your rights, not just special interests

● Real action on clean air, clean water, and healthcare access

● Defending your freedom to make choices about your own body

This is about human dignity. About survival. About the right to live a safe, healthy life no matter your income, background, or beliefs.

As a Democrat, I’ve worked in the minority and still got real results for the people because I fought for what matters.
I helped fund the Performing Arts Center in Downtown Orlando.
I passed laws even when Republicans held the power.
I got things done for you, not for lobbyists, not for billionaires.
Meanwhile, Republicans have made it their mission to strip away the things that bring us joy and connection.
They don’t want you educated, inspired, or empowered they want you controlled. That’s why they:
● Slash funding for the arts
● Ban books and censor education
● Cut programs that support music, theater, and creative expression
Why? Because creativity fuels free thought and free thinkers are harder to manipulate.
It’s not just politics. It’s an attack on culture, on community, and on joy itself.
While I’ve been fighting to build up our communities, Republicans have been working to tear them down.
We can not let them gut the soul of our cities and silence the spirit of the people.

Let’s talk about what’s really happening.

Republican politicians have spent years rigging the system to stay in power even when the people don’t support their policies.

Here’s how:
● Gerrymandering: They redraw voting districts to favor their own party so they can win elections without earning majority support. It’s how they pick their voters instead of voters picking them.

● Dirty Money: Billionaires and big corporations flood campaigns with secret money, drowning out the voices of working people. That money buys influence and policies that only benefit the rich.

● Corruption: When politicians are more loyal to lobbyists and donors than to the people they represent, laws get written to serve special interests, not our communities.
This isn’t just unfair, it's dangerous. It undermines trust, blocks progress, and silences everyday people.

But we can fix it.
Let's end gerrymandering.
Let's pass real campaign finance reform.
Let's elect leaders who serve the public, not private interests.

We deserve a democracy that works for all of us. Let’s fight back together.

This month, we continue to celebrate love, identity, freedom, and the ongoing fight for equality.

As a proud ally, I’m committed to standing with the LGBTQ+ community not just in June, but every single day. The attacks we’ve seen on LGBTQ+ rights, healthcare access, and basic dignity are unacceptable. I will never stand by while others are targeted for who they are or who they love.
In Tallahassee, I will fight to protect LGBTQ+ rights, expand access to affirming healthcare, and push back against discrimination in all its forms. Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and heard in our state.

To our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors, and loved ones, I see you, I stand with you, and I will fight for you.
