Orlando Science Center celebrated World Rainforest Day on Monday!
On this day, we raise awareness of the critical role rainforests play in Earth’s biodiversity and climate. Unfortunately, rainforests are facing growing threats such as deforestation and wildfires. Over 50% of our planet’s biodiversity is found in rainforests, so these threats impact various species and weakens Earth’s ecosystems.
This day unites organizations, activists and the entire planet to advance conservation. At Orlando Science Center, guests can visit the Life exhibit and Conservation Hallway on Level 1 to learn more about our planet, animals and conservation. We hope you’ll use World Rainforest Day as your first step toward learning more about Earth’s diverse habitats and the conservation efforts you can make for a happier, healthier planet Earth!

From left: Andre Douglas - Mission Specialist, Luca Parmitano (ESA) - Pilot, Randy Bresnik - Commander, Frank Rubio - Mission Specialist.
This mission represents a major step forward in NASA's plans to establish a long-term human presence on the lunar surface and prepare for future exploration of Mars. Artemis III will carry out a series of objectives in low Earth orbit designed to demonstrate critical systems needed for future lunar landings, beginning with Artemis IV.
Artemis III marks the next chapter of human exploration beyond Earth as one of global collaboration; this mission will be the first time a member of the European Space Agency is assigned to a crewed mission to space from NASA.
