There’s a difference between doing it for the money and doing it for the sheer enjoyment of providing a snapshot of your clients investment. I actually love inspecting homes for a living. I enjoy my clients and the personal relationships which are formed outside of the business side of things. When you’re passionate about what you do for a living it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like a Blessing!

With the Fall/Winter months quickly approaching, it’s always a good practice to do a quick walkthrough and perform a visual inspection of your soffits. I usually encounter small animals such as lizards, snakes, and squirrels which have gained access to the attic via small openings (see picture). I would recommend a licensed professional in this scenario.

Tis’ the season! As we enter the Fall season with cooler temperatures, now would be a great time to inspect your attic space (work safely!). The most common defect that I encounter during an inspection is the degradation of vent seals. This is a relatively cheap repair and the vent seal tape can be purchased at your local hardware store. I usually carry around an extra roll so that I can educate the customer on the importance of proper vent seal maintenance. www.gocsinspections.com

Did you know that the accumulation of asphalt shingle granules in your gutters and downspouts are a good indication of the current condition of your shingle roof? The average asphalt shingle roof typically lasts for about 20 years here in the state of FL (with normal wear/tear).

I couldn’t even imagine that I would ever find two of my favorites here in Kuwait! Get in my belly!

Now you know that you’re a dedicated home inspector when you’re one thousand miles away from home but you just can’t resist performing a visual inspection on a random electrical panel 😂😂

I love performing home inspections on older homes because they present many “unique” characteristics. This home was built in 1966 and was in pretty good shape. I will share some of my findings in future posts. Congrats to my client and thank you for choosing Citrus State Inspections 😊

When performing an inspection it is important to pay attention to caulking issues within the wet areas of a home. This particular home was missing a bead of caulk around the tub area located in the master bath. This issue will not only cause damage to the attached cabinetry, but it could also introduce mold due to water saturation.
