In honor of our 20th anniversary wedding anniversary, we commissioned a portrait by woodblock mosaic artist Jody Dodson. It was fitting (and a wonderful surprise) for the piece to be delivered on Valentine’s Day. The title of the piece was meant to be a bit cheeky: “KBO” or “Keep Buggering On” - a quote by Winston Churchill. On the back of the portrait where Jody signed the work she also included a bible verse that reminded her of the piece. She chose Galatians 6:9 - “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”
We toured the vast Slovenian cave system this week which was breathtaking, but the tour took an unexpected turn and gave us a gift no one expected. Our tour guide explained that the cave had wonderful acoustics and then asked if anyone in our group could sing. A random woman from Serbia raised her hand and gave a little smile. She was reluctant to sing at first and then, after some encouragement from our group, she started singing. Everyone in the room was immediately floored. One of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. All I know is that she is a red-haired woman visiting from Serbia and that she deserves to have a spotlight on her incredible God given gift.
I was overdue for a tennis 🎾 reel….Got smoked by another team today but still had the best time.

After 7 joyous years, .the.wknd is transitioning into something new at the end of 2024. This has been a journey filled with creativity, connection, and gratitude. I have met so many amazing friends and loved every moment of this business. 🌟
While I’m stepping away from .the.wknd in its current form, this story is far from over. My hope is to faithfully embrace whatever comes next, and I can’t wait to share it with you when the time is right. Until then, I’ll continue making silly reels, collaborating with and supporting small designers and businesses who create such a special, inspiring space.
