Timber Creek High School is public school located in Orlando, FL. Our programming team was started in 2009-2010 school year and have grown to 31 members. This year, our programming team will compete in over 20 different events. We attend 4 state contests held by the ACM Chapters at UF, UCF, FIU and Stetson. We also attend online contests such as ACSL, USACO, and the High School Programming League.

I asked our UCF teams to try to win a smaller award that we could actually fit in the classroom, but they didn't listen and did amazing anyway. Ramsey Makan, Keagan Bowman, and Logan Chandler made up the team that got 3rd place overall, and we got 4 teams in the top 20 out of 70+ in total, more than any other school. Fantastic job all, and thanks for the inconveniently large trophy!

Yesterday's Code Quest competition at Orange Technical College was a blowout! Of the top 10 teams, Timber Creek got the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th place spots. Couldn't be more proud of our students!

Today two of our alumni are competing at the North American Championship. Our two members are Sharon Barak and Daniel West and competing for the University of Central Florida. Follow along here. At this time they are 5th!

Not only was our top scoring team best in state, but we ended up being the top scoring team in the world at Lockheed Martin's Code Quest. Lockheed Martin Code Quest is hosted at 22 locations around the world. 18 sites are held in the US, in addition to Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, Poland, and APAC (Australia/Singapore/New Zealand). Over 1600 students competed last weekend which would be over 550 teams.
Congratulations to the students who accomplished the amazing feat.
In addition, we had our novice team teams (first year students) place 2nd and 7th, and our advanced teams placed 1st, 5th, and 8th in Florida.

Timber Creek takes 1st place against 89 teams at the 36th UCF High School Programming Tournament! Brian Barak, Timo Moegling and Lucas Marris all are talking home Oculus hardware! Two additional teams placed 9h and 10th. So proud!

Brian Barak and Ramsey Makan take top two spots at the UF Programming Team High School Programming Contest! This marks Brian’s second time taking top marks at UF! Congratulations!

Timber Creek earns it’s first top 3 finish at the Virgina Tech High School Programming Contest! Congratulations Brian Barak, Lucas Marris, and Ramsey Makan! Go Wolves!!
Results are in! Brian finishes 2nd in division 1 and Ramsey finishes 6th in division 2. See the post below for the full standings!
Scoreboards are frozen but we have a strong showing.
Div 1:
Brian B has 7 problems solved and tied for first, but losing the tie breaker. He needs to solve at least 1 for a chance for #1.
Lucas M is currently sitting at 14th with three solved
Div 2:
Ramsey M is sitting at 9th with 6 problems solved. If he solves one more he could go as high as 5th, and solving 3 more has a possibility of winning the contest.
Megan M and Keagan B, Eisho K, Matthew Lewis, Yassin A, Games O'Donnell, and Gaurav K all have 4 or more problems solved. They are all within the top 40!
They are doing very well!

We win both divisions! We solved the set in both contests and there is still over two hours remaining. We have 3 teams still working on the lower set.
