Absolutely enjoyed facilitating the first gospel fest at the University of Pikeville with my mentor and dear friend Dr Michael Figgers.

We had a fabulous time. The faculty and students were welcoming and enthusiastic. They took care of us!

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the band. As much as I love vocals it was refreshing to focus on playing the piano and making sure the band was tight!

Looking forward to the next one!

Proverbs 16:2 - All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the Lord weighs the motives. 

God’s evaluation process begins at the heart level. He’s first and foremost concern with WHY, not WHAT.

Are our good works done to be noticed by men or to glorify Him? Do we desire more clicks and followers to be seen or to serve others? Are we after platforms or purpose? Do we desire celebrity status or Christ?

Search our hearts Lord, and may we humbly accept your appraisal.

Serve on the stage, but don’t fall in love with it. Learn the discipline of private worship with the Lord. Just Him and you, no crowd or audience.

Nothing wrong with awards, money or notoriety. But that can’t be what you’re after. Those things fade and lack sustaining power. There is only one treasure that is eternally valuable and sustaining. It is Christ Jesus Himself. Trade him for nothing. Stay true. He is enough.

Powerful moments of worship are great…but don’t settle for that. Learn the discipline of abiding in intimate communion with the Lord. There’s no better place to be.

Technique, musicianship, audio and things of that nature are absolutely important. However, it is the power of the Holy Spirt flowing through those things that changes lives.

Keep it oily.

He’s Still God! Never forget it! The world may toss to and from on the turbulent waves of uncertainty. But JESUS is certain, a never changing foundation.

Creativity is needed, especially for your creative team…but never prioritize it over the simplicity of corporate singing. Make participation easy. There is something uniquely powerful about corporate singing.

Ephesians 5:19: “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord”

Stay on fire. Resist apathy and heartless routines. Let nothing quench your fire for the Lord Jesus!
