Legendary. Last night could not have been a more perfect send-off for the last 10 years of our work.

Sending so much love to our friends at for being the perfect community space to celebrate the lives of the 49. Thank you to everyone who donated, danced, and joined us for our final fundraiser.

✨ Dress Code? It's our final transmission -- think spacey, glittery, sequins! But also, just come as you!

🌙 Timing? Doors open at 7! Meet and Greet for Host Committee is at 7:30. Show begins at 8! Bring dollars for tips because we are getting them all! And then make sure you are prepared for our EPIC raffle presented by Orlando Guerrilla Gatherings! 💕

🌟 "But I don't own glitter!" Oh, don't you worry, because when Sara is in charge, there is glitter. We will have a glitter-swipe station where you can pay $5 for a swipe and 3 raffle tix!

Today, we take the time to honor the 49 angels we lost on 6/12/16. Ten years. We remember. We carry them forward in our hearts and with our action.

And then tomorrow, we celebrate 10 years of honoring what Drew’s life meant to so many — friendship, community, celebration, and love.

Ten years. The names still matter. The work still matters. The love that started all of this still matters.

Orlando and Tampa: come eat ice cream for a good cause! We will be at both locations today, talking about our decade of work over sweet treats with you.

“Everything we’ve done for 10 years, every scholarship, every celebration, every life we’ve touched, is still out there moving through the world,” Grossman shares. “The Final Transmission is our way of saying: we sent everything we had.”

The nonprofit distributed over $250,000 in scholarships, an accomplishment Grossman says will never really settle in. She says that alone shows the power of friendship, community and connection.

She says for a decade, The Dru Project has pushed anguish into action and pain into promise. It raised funds for a permanent memorial mural at UCF, which will be on the walls of Leinonen’s alma mater for many years to come.

“We wanted a title that honored the fact that this isn’t a goodbye to Drew or the 49 — it’s a goodbye to us as an organization,” she shares. “The message lives on; we’re just signing off.”
