Me & the two Windermere houses I designed a couple of years ago. They’re both owned by families with little kids … and toys everywhere!!
They started just as houses…. and now they’re homes. 😉

These are some new construction houses is Sweden… some are modern & some are made to look old. All of the new houses built in Sweden have exterior walls that are 12” thick; 2x8 studs with plywood on the interior walls plus 2x3 furring and then gypsum interior sheeting… all exterior siding is 1” thick wood … all to keep the very cold air outside. It’s August and today it was 55 degrees fahrenheit!

Whenever I travel, I study the architecture of houses in the region… I’m in my wife’s homeland of Sweden again (for the 14th time) and I’m always inspired by the simplicity, attention to detail and proportion of the houses here. More to come…

This project involves updating the front entry and overall facade of the house... Below are the existing conditions and two different concept renderings; one with a "butterfly" roof entry that follows the existing roof lines and the other with a "flat" roof entry .... Which one do you like?

Tiny House Orlando Progress Pictures.... How do you make a 464 square foot house feel spacious?? You have 16' high cathedral ceilings, of course... It's getting dried in and they start on the stairs up to the loft this week... ;-)
