⭐️🎨 Guess what?! I'll be at Yuri's Night Space Coast on Saturday, April 15 showing my Astronomy Art series again! The collection is growing as I've been adding pieces for the last couple of years. If you'll be going, make sure to stop by the table and say hi!

Year 4! Beyond grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing space with the community as a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador. Made a post for our socials since Astronaut Anubis (behind Mars) is now traveling among the stars and Space Cadet Cosmos (the distinguished gentleman) is continuing Anubis's work here on Earth. Thank you to the team and fellow SSAs for the support and training. Lots of exciting things are already in the works. Stay tuned!

Congrats to the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College for the awesome re-opening of the planetarium shows. The link to events is below! Got a sneak peek of the new technology installed, and it's incredible!
It's been awhile but we have been working really hard to get the Universe back up and running again! We are excited to announce several preview showcase nights for you to come out and check out all the cool new technology we have to offer at the planetarium. These events are FREE and will take place on March 31, April 7, 14, and 21. Shows will run from 6 pm, 7 pm, and 8 pm. Seating is limited and is first come, first served. The Central Florida Astronomical Society will also be out with their telescopes for a viewing opportunity each night weather permitting. Our plan is for a full reopening in the fall but we are excited to bring you all out once again for a series of astronomical nights. Hope to see you there. For a full description and dates please visit www.seminolestate.edu/planet.

🔭So much fun out at Geneva last night taking nightscapes through a fisheye lens. Always a treat to look through the telescope and hoping to project this and other images on a full dome planetarium. Fun tip, zoom in to see a ridiculous amount of stars 😀⭐️

Tonight’s early evening targets. Not too shabby given all the light pollution in the front yard. Had to call it early since the mosquitoes were pretty rough. Dark sky’s tomorrow night! Get to play with some new camera pieces. Stay tuned.

Awesome first in-person Central Florida Astronomical Society meeting back at the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College
since the new hardware was installed. Cannot wait to see the full planetarium shows in fall. Some sneak peak pics until then. And thanks to the NASA Night Sky Network and CFAS for the outreach award.

🚀Liftoff of the CRS-27 Mission from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. On board the Cargo Dragon 2 are supplies and payloads, including critical materials to directly support science and research investigations that occur onboard the International Space Station orbiting laboratory. 🎨Astronomy Art time....
Decided to feature my own Anubis as Sirius.
~The brightest star in the night sky
~Twice as massive as the Sun
~It is the eighth closest star to the Sun
~Known as the Dog Star
⭐️Some fun facts about the mythology and the art piece...
The star was of immense importance in ancient Egyptian times. It was worshiped and offered sacrifices with the intention that they would bring good fortune. For this reason, the image is depicted with Anubis representing the main star, Sirius A.
Also known as the heavenly wolf, which seemed appropriate for Anubis since he passed away in May 2022. Although Sirius is not located in our Solar System, it is in our Milky Way and very visible to the naked eye. For this reason, I chose to include our Solar System in the art piece. As a fun bonus, one of the planets is depicted as a tennis ball.
