Hopefully, you have or are setting goals for your personal life and business!!
A couple of key tips to make them more successful!!
1) Remember to set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound)
2) Don't worry about changing everything, set 2-4 goals that are Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) to you
3) Attach strong emotions to your goals (for example, if your goal is to make $30K more this year - What will accomplishing that feel like? What will change in your life? How happy will you be?
4) Remember making the goal is only the start! Develop habits and routines to support your goal.
MAKE THIS THE BEST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE!!

“Sharing food with another human being is an intimate act that should not be indulged in lightly.” – M.F.K. Fisher
Most people enjoy food, and in our society eating has become a social event. Just consider the popularity of Keith Ferrazzi’s bestseller “Never Eat Alone.”
When we break bread together, many aspects of interpersonal communication and personality become transparent. Likes and dislikes, education, grace, wit, and charm are just some of those aspects.
Never waste an opportunity to share food with a client. But take it seriously, prepare, choose well, and be present.

A lot of business is ruined by assumptions.
Don’t assume. Ask!
They may have a different perspective.
Honor theirs by learning about it and understanding it.

Multitasking is DEAD!
Really, multitasking never existed.
Psychologists studying the brain for decades have repeatedly shown that we can only focus (or think) on 1 thing at a time; we cannot multitask.
We are actually doing “switch-tasking”: switching from one focus or thought to another and back again, in nanoseconds perhaps but still switching. Think about having 2 light switches and alternating turning one on & off and then the other one on & off. It would not be long before you were fatigued and probably starting to make mental mistakes (i.e. turning the same one on twice in a row or missing a switch).
Think it doesn't affect you?
Consider this: studies have shown that just getting notifications on your phone during a task (not checking it, just being aware of the notification) significantly lowers one’s productivity and focus.
How many distractions do you have throughout the day? What is the effect on your productivity? Your energy?

Are you just adding, or are you subtracting and improving along the way? Growth means letting go, too, subtracting outdated systems, processes, services, or even products.

Where does your moral compass point?
As a business’ reach is ever expanding with the internet and social media, I have seen less evidence of people’s moral compasses. As our work gets more mobile and virtual, it is easy for some people to manipulate, exaggerate, or even blatantly lie.
People feel less responsible for their actions when a customer is not standing right in front of them.
We need to watch out for each other and stay honest in whatever environment our business occurs. Do all the things you would do if you had a storefront or office and were face-to-face with your customer. Stand by your product or service, take returns, and give back the money or issue credit if needed.
Morality should not be dead. It is good business and helps you sleep better at night.
