General Conference weekend is a lovely reprieve and edification of the soul. I loved hearing speak on being still and knowing that our Father in Heaven is on our side and in our corner.

I painted Be Still & Know to remind that our Father has a plan for each of us and that we should have peace in knowing that He is with us, sharing light in darkness, strength when we are weak and comfort when we are crushed with the weight of worries.

God lives and loves you.

It’s been a crazy busy few months and I’ve been absent. The holidays. My day job’s busiest time of year. Life. But this past Sunday, I was inspired to paint.

Sunday would have been our sweet Sophie pup’s birthday. She contracted a very aggressive cancer in October and we said goodbye to her just before Christmas. I have missed her so much.

As our youngest doggie, she had the most energy and was our #1 goofball. She was the very best cuddler and quickest food snatcher. Soph was full of s***k and she was happy. She is etched on my soul.

I picked colors and painted for her on Sunday. I wanted to show how another beautiful life can touch our own, in all its vibrancy through the seasons of life. The sparks that make life special and the warmth that keeps us close.

My final painting delivery of 2023. Rock Candy Mountajn was a labor of love that came together slowly over a few months. When it was done, I loved it! I wasn’t sure I’d be able to part with it. But knowing that Bettie loved it too, well…that’s just how I know I must’ve been painting it for her all along. 🥰
