The roads and sidewalks are SLIPPERY today. Be Careful!

A weak but moist storm will move through Utah late tonight and Thursday. Here are a few highlights about this storm:

1. A mix of rain and snow and possibly freezing rain is expected to begin over northern Utah towards sunrise.

2. In places where cold air remains trapped such as valley bottoms or in shady normally cold locations, freezing rain is possible.

3. The Thursday morning commute may be impacted by areas of ice on roadways. These may be difficult to see, so just because the road looks clear, there could still be patches of clear ice.

4. The Cache Valley and west deserts are the areas most likely to see freezing rain, but all areas of the Wasatch Front and some of the valleys on the Wasatch Back could also see some freezing rain. The Cache Valley could also see a few inches of snow.

5. Snow is expected above 6500 feet with accumulations of 3-7 inches.
