got some fresh goodies this weekend. I pulled the old Airaid intake out and installed a new cold air intake in carbon fiber. This system put the filter down in the bumper for a cooler air charge. I also had a set of ID1050 injectors installed along with a DSX flex fuel kit. I’m now setup for some more power in the near future. I also installed a set of Nordlock washers from Dedicated Motorsports. You can see where they’ve slipped in the past. This is a common issue on V2s.

update. On my way to LSFest I hit the mother of all pot holes and blew a front strut. Decided to go ahead and replace all 4 with some German counterparts and a pair of Delphi lower control arms. These seem to ride just as good as the now discontinued OEM struts and were less than half the cost. Win/win. Next up, new tires!

We’re hiring a Senior Automotive Technician (A-Tech) at Turbo Lab.

This is NOT an entry-level position. We’re looking for someone who can step in and handle real work—diagnostics, engine jobs, and performance builds—completely unsupervised.

What makes this shop different:
We’re not just doing oil changes and brake jobs all day. This is a mix of real diagnostics, engine work, and performance builds. One day might be diagnosing a drivability issue, the next may be an engine swap or creating a custom turbo kit.

What you'll be working on:
• General automotive & diagnostics
• Performance builds & upgrades
• Engine replacements, major repairs, & engine swaps
• Mix of Japanese, Domestic, & some Euro

What we expect:
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic ability
• Proficiency in all stages of engine work
• Ability to complete jobs start-to-finish
• Attention to detail
• Professional attitude
• Turbo/performance experience
• Fabrication skills

Bonus points:
• Tuning experience
• Euro experience

Other perks of working at Turbo Lab:
• Free use of the dyno and free tuning for your personal vehicles
• Parts at cost
• After hours access to work on your own projects
• No work on weekends

Compensation:
This is not a flat rate role. Compensation ranges from $30-$45/hr, depending on experience and skill level — we are willing to pay for the right person.

If you believe you have the skillset we are looking for and are the type of tech who takes pride in your work, send us an email with your resume to [email protected].

got a couple goodies installed this weekend. Starting off with a fresh fluid change for the differential. I think diffs get neglected when it comes to maintenance, as mine was awful. Also replaced the worn out and torn fender liner with a new one. And finally, replaced the mangled stock heat exchanger with a thick boi from Mishimoto. This heat exchanger is near triple the thickness and sure looks nice in there. This should help combat my IATs a little.

got some fancy new stopping goodies. We started off with a set of DBA 5000 series 2-piece front rotors and 5000 series rear solid rotors. Pads were supplied by Powerstop and are the Xtreme carbon pads. I also replaced the driver side caliper with a new one as the old one had severe brake fluid damage. She stops extra spicy now.

update time! This weekend was a light one. We added some EOS carbon fiber goodies. First up is the carbon wing. This thing is awesome and adds a nice touch to the already nice rear on these cars. Secondly we added a pair of carbon fog light shrouds. These add more carbon flare to match the lips we previously installed.

update time. I went a bit cheap on this setup on purpose. I want to test out the cheap factor and see how it holds up over time. I have exactly $497 invested in this entire setup. Exhaust is an eBay special at $212, the test pipes were $205, and the carbon tips were $80 for the pair. The exhaust note is on the louder side, but not overly tacky or obnoxious. Fitment wasn’t bad considering. I’ll keep you guys updated on how the quality holds up.

update time. I replaced the filter on the intake with a much bigger, higher flow filter because…why not? My carbon fiber lips came in and I installed them promptly along with a pair of yellow fog light bulbs. These seem to do better cutting through snow and rain. And lastly, I replaced the cabin air filter. Which apparently hasn’t been done in a loooong time. It was gross.
