Over Spring Break, students in Dr. Baktybek Abdrisaev's Sustainable Development class (POLS 3410) had the unique honor of presenting research at the United Nations during the 69th Commission on the Status of Women about the education and empowerment of women and girls in mountainous communities around the world.

Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan spoke to UVU students about the challenges of governing in a democracy amid the current conditions of hyperpartisanship. He called the recent vote to remove Speaker Kevin McCarthy a "disgrace."

The Department of History and Political Science was honored to have hosted the President of the U.N. General Assembly, Csaba Kőrösi, who delivered an address titled "From Crisis Management to Transformation – The UN in a Brave New World."
