The inclination for companies and hiring managers will likely be to pause the hiring process. Doing so, then getting ramped up again will take time and effort. Keep the process moving, keep the conversation active. If you get to a hiring stage, pause at that point. The same advice goes to candidates. STAY ENGAGED.

has necessitated that be conducted exclusively via phone or video for awhile. My top video interview tips are:
- Dress for success... head-to-toe. Treat it like an in-person interview. It would suck if you had to stand up and revealed your Batman boxer shorts
- Keep your environment neutral... and quiet. Nobody wants to see your NSYNC poster or your dog begging for a treat. Set up in a quiet room where you can have good light on your face and a neutral background
- Assess your tech... BEFORE the call. Do a dry run to make sure your connection is strong, the picture is good, and that you'll be audible. Do this especially if you have to install software or login to a host server you've never used before.

This is applicable to both interview-ERs as well as interview-EEs.
