'Beautiful way' to love: Nearly 1M people donated at Giving Machines this season In the last Christmas season, almost 1 million people donated 4.7 million items through the Light the World Giving Machine initiative from the Church of Jesus Christ.

Light the World Initiative Shares the Love of Christ Across the Globe In 2025, Giving Machine kiosks are in more cities than ever before. Here are some highlights of how Light the World is bringing the love of Christ to communities worldwide this Christmas season.

Did you know that entering “777” on the Giving Machine keypad brings up one of every item that can be donated? This year in Orem, that comes out to $1,613. Obviously the vast majority of donors can’t do that, but it’s fun to watch when it happens as each tile representing an item falls individually onto the tray below.

This afternoon, one large family came by and donated 5 of everything in a single transaction, or 150 items in total! The young volunteers had to open the machine during the process to clear out a pile of tiles so that the machine wouldn’t get blocked while completing everything!

Thanks to everyone who makes a donation, whether for $8 or something more. We also thank the many volunteers who keep things running smoothly, especially on a busy Saturday!
