Highland Spring Farm is a pastured-based farm in Dane County, WI raising the highest quality meats!
Highland Spring Farm is committed to raising good food including grassfed beef, pastured poultry and eggs. We are just south of the Park Street/Hwy 14 exit off the beltline and just north of Oregon, WI. We raise good, nutritious, healthy food from natural, healthy animals.
A special weekend deserves a special menu. Smoked brisket, tenderloin sandwiches, and sides from across the country’s history and geography.
Doing cowboy things. The recent spring storms have taken a toll on our trees and fence lines. While we love the trees for shade we don’t like it when they fall on our fences. One adventurous critter decided to hop the downed fence and explore the neighbor’s prairie. Old Nickel was happy to be put to work to help bring the wayward calf home.

Fitchburg farm uses grazing practices to protect soil, water FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) — On a stretch of pasture just outside Madison, cattle graze across bright green fields, but farmers say what’s happening beneath their hooves may matter even more.
Spring is in the air but the grass isn’t ready to graze just yet so it’s stockpiled forage for a bit longer. The cattle don’t mind at all. They just keep happily eating.
A March blizzard is rather annoying but these cows don’t mind at all.

It’s been awhile and we’ve been a little busy since our last update! Our newest farmhand joined our family in January and is quickly learning the best way to survive in our crazy house is to sleep! The rest of the crew is very much in love with Farmer Ilah.

It’s July and the boys are back with their ladies. We’re running three herds of cows this summer for each of our bulls. It’s a little more complicated for fencing but it’ll be worth it for all those adorable babies in April!

Fifteen years ago, we said “I Do” on the family farm. It was as hot and humid that week as it was this week. Cattle, a farm, and four crazy kids have all made the last fifteen years wonderful! Can’t imagine anything different!
