Hi, hello, hey there — it’s been quite a year, & I’m so looking forward to seeing familiar (& new) faces at the holiday market this upcoming Sunday at in Verona, starting at 12PM / noon! Stop by to sample & take home preserves for gifting, or relishing all to yourself; whatever’s your jam 🫙

2024 has been filled with a lot of unexpected events, many changes in plans, & not much time for myself - or Modest Harvest. I hope you can forgive my long absence from markets, & always know you can reach out anytime to see if I have preserves available!

I’ve still managed to find a little time here & there to make fermented & heat-processed goods from my garden harvests & CSA shares (thanks & ), so will have a decent selection to pick from at this Sunday’s event. Hope to see you there! Gratitude to the team at for hosting once more. 🩶

Selection of items I’ll have on Sunday:
• ferments: kimchi, sauerkraut, curtido
• golden tomato jam
• strawberry rhubarb jam
• heirloom apple butter
• mixed citrus marmalade
• spiced pickled beets
• & maybe another item or two!

Farmers market season is just around the corner! 🌼

Come visit Modest Harvest & sample our products at the The Mill Paoli Farmers Market starting this Sunday, May 7, & each Sunday after from 9AM-1PM, or at the Verona Downtown Farmers Market on May 10, then every other Wednesday beginning May 17, from 3-6:30PM. Both markets run through October.

Modest Harvest will not be at the Paoli Mill Terrace and Park Farmers Market today - I’m busy processing the last harvest of the season into more products, for next week’s last farmers market of the season!

It is an absolutely perfect fall day here at the Wisconsin Brewing Company Pumpkin Chuck! And I’ve got the perfect fall goodies to go along with it.

Apple butter, pumpkin chai caramel jam, & a pumpkin pepper jelly - plus Italian pear mustard conserve.

Hi! I’m Sadie (you may also know me as Sara), & I’m the owner/operator behind Modest Harvest. Every product you see at market is handmade — & in many cases, homegrown — by me.

I love to grow & preserve food, especially through fermentation (hello, kimchi!). I also love to talk about it, so ask away if you have questions. My favorite part of being a food maker is working with the seasons; I create in small batches, try out new recipes often, & experience flavors based on what’s available in our local area at the moment. Incorporating veggies, herbs, & fruit from my own backyard, our CSA box, & other nearby small farms is my jam!

When I’m not at market, I work at FairShare CSA Coalition, providing resources & support for small farms in Wisconsin, the Midwest, & beyond. Otherwise, you can usually find me in the garden, kitchen, or spending time with my husband Nate & our dog Maisie.

Come see me at a farmers market to sample tasty preserves, try new flavors, & hopefully learn something too!
