Feels really gross that some art events - that I've already paid booth fees to - are using AI flyers to promote supporting local artists

And I don't feel like I can call them out

I fear the request to make free art, as I don't have time with the ridiculous hours I work running my own small business

I fear calling attention to boycott, since that just means folks will not show up to support the actual artists vending at these events

I fear my own livelihood

Why don't people understand the impact this AI generative bu****it has, not only on the planet, but their own small business? AI anything just shows that you don't support humans, so why do you expect humans to come support you???

It just fu***ng sucks

Maybe they should offer free booth spaces to artists who want to design a flyer?

Maybe they don't realize the impact so we need to keep having this conversation?

When it's an event I've already paid to be at, and if I cancel I make zero income for the week? That's when I just do my best, and f**k the rest...

Just got back from my longest break ever 🍀 My time in Ireland was absolutely incredible

Like, one of those adventures where you can barely process everything in the moment

I've been furiously sketching the ephemeral images in my head, to channel some of the inspiration, for when I have more time in my schedule for art making

I'm slowly reopening the shop, fulfilling wholesale orders, and preparing for market season

Still debating if I want to fight with Reels to put together a proper post of my adventures, but I've been sharing clips to my stories if you wanna see some of the magic from the emerald isle

Saying farewell to my old man Tengu who came into my life as a stray 🖤

It felt right to paint him surrounded by a forest of catnip and his fellow black cat friends (yes I've been lucky enough to care for two black voids)

To have this happen while I'm away hurts in a new way - I'm grateful he won't suffer but I feel so guilty for not being there to lay him to rest

Thankfully he was loved well in my stead

I am so grateful he wandered into my life, making demands for the stinkiest food with the loudest voice, and claiming me as his human to follow around the house, as well as outside

I guess that’s why I love painting all kinds of creatures - they teach us compassion + companionship that helps bring us together

I'm lucky to have found him 🖤

14 hours flight today, wish me luck!

EARTH DAY UPDATE My first shop drop of the year for my fellow nature s***s!

I'll be away for most of May, going on an adventure to Ireland to find some family roots + connect with the land of my ancestors

Applications are finally getting back and the anxiety of not knowing where I'll end up can leave me the f**k alone!

It's really just a few fascists trying to take advantage of literally billions of us, which means change is inevitable

I think that's why protests really matter

It's where we feel seen - and see each other - and realize just how much power we collectively hold

We are stronger together

Also, for my Portland people, today is my second weekend ever at watching the protest march past my booth last week + cherry blossoms 🌸 falling from the sky was such an inspiration
