When you're born during morning chores, you get to be work goats for the day.

Things don't always go as planned. When they don't, I'm thankful for friends, fellow breeders, mentors and vet hospitals that are a phone call or trailer ride away. A night spent at OSU Large Animal hospital wasn't in the itinerary, but I am so appreciative of being able to load up the trailer and go. They were able to help a doe in distress during labor and deliver her kids, including a live doe kid, without the need for a c-section. Make sure to thank your vets and your village, I know I couldn't do it without them!

Sometimes you're born the runt and need extra snuggles!

"What do you mean we don't get to live in the house forever?" First set of kids got relocated to the barn yesterday, and were rightfully offended by the move!

Because the big trough and buckets in the barn aren't good enough, Dollar enjoying fresh rain.

The results from the National Experimental and Recorded Grade Dairy Goat Association All American program have been posted and I am stoked to share that two of our girls got reserve in their age classes! Double was reserve in the 4 yr old class and Dollar was reserve in the 5/6 yr old class. There were beautiful does across the board in all classes, congratulations to all of their owners!!

One of these days (weeks, months, years!) I will actually be current on this page. Maybe I need to mark a day on the calendar and set a reminder! Life at home, on the farm and in the show ring has continued as it generally does.

I made the trek to Nationals this year (huge shout out to Tessa, for being my travel partner, coconspirator and friend throughout the trip!) and came home with my first pottery!! What an exhilarating feeling, to be at the head of the line in your age class! To stand in the champion lineup among so many recognized and respected breeders (so many from the PNW!!) was something I will never forget ❤️

People always say; 'It takes a village', and the Dairy Goat Village is a pretty special one. I couldn't be prouder to be part of such a community.

Placings in each caption. Photo credit goes to Melanie, thank you for capturing these does in a way that makes them shine!
