While normally I would not share something like this on the fire departments page, this directly involves one of our fire fighters and his child. Please take a look and if youโd like to support one of your fire fighters please feel free!

Here are some photos from the second fire academy hosted by OCESD3 in partnership with Kilgore College. This academy offers TCFP certification training to local volunteers, enhancing their ability to serve their communities. We extend our gratitude to participating departments and Kilgore College for their collaboration in making this training possible for our firefighters. Additionally, we acknowledge the Texas Forestry Service and their 2604 program for providing grants that facilitated this opportunity.

As of 10 A.M. this morning the burn ban has been lifted. Please still exercise caution when burning outdoors even though there is no burn ban currently.

We are now under a burn ban.
We have received confirmation from the forestry service that the fire's extent is 120 acres. The fire is completely lined out, and a unit will be present in the area tomorrow for observational purposes. We wish to thank the Texas Forestry Service and the mutual aid departments that lent their support yesterday.
You might notice TFS and fire department vehicles in the area of Forest Heights again today. We will be attempting to finish extinguishing the fire on off Pea Farm road. Please keep in mind that it will be unsafe to be in the area of the fire due to potential dozer and air craft utilization. We urge all residents to please avoid the area with all UTVs as we saw many in the area last night wanting to look. The dozers and air craft will probably not be able to see you and it can turn into a dangerous situation extremely quickly. Thank you!
