A urethral stricture, if less than a centimeter in length, is often treated by Urologists with dilation. This common treatment is done by progressively stretching the stricture with progressively larger dilators to increase the size or using the safer direct vision ballon dilator invented and published by Dr. Gelman. Recovery from urethroplasty takes about 1-5 days and the catheters are kept in place for about 2-3 weeks until the urethra is fully healed. Expect an after-surgery follow-up at the 4-month mark where a urethroscopy is then conducted to examine the healing process of the urethra and its width. Hypospadias Treatment 11/06/2019

Hypospadias, a birth defect where the urethra is at the base of the p***s rather than the tip, had inflicted Zach. As his parents explain in this video, Zach suffered three failed corrective surgeries and with compounding scar tissue a compromised kidney was impending. Dr. Gelman was able to successfully complete a two-part urethral reconstruction with sustained effectiveness of the repair.
