ABA has been shown to be effective on a wide range of behaviors, including communication skills, social skills, academic skills, leisure activities, self-help skills, and reduction of inappropriate behaviors. Our mission is to provide quality, research-based ABA interventions to our clients and their families. We do this by providing individualized programs for each child, informational and hands on caregiver training, and a variety of resources for the families we serve.

Self-regulation is one of the most important skills children can learn. 💚
It’s not about stopping emotions—it’s about learning how to recognize them, respond to them, and move forward in a healthy way.
Swipe to learn 5 key parts of self-regulation that we help children practice every day. 🌱

Big feelings are not bad behavior. 💚
Children aren’t born knowing how to manage frustration, disappointment, anxiety, or overwhelm. These are skills that must be taught and practiced over time.
ABA helps children learn:
✨ How to recognize emotions
✨ Healthy ways to express feelings
✨ Self-regulation strategies
✨ Coping skills during challenging moments
✨ Communication instead of frustration
✨ How to ask for help or a break
When we replace punishment with support, we create opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. 🌱
Correcting children doesn’t always have to happen in the moment 💭
Sometimes kids are trying to be funny, connect, or interact socially—even when the comment itself isn’t appropriate.
One helpful approach can be:
✨ acknowledge the positive intention first
✨ keep the connection
✨ then gently teach a better alternative later
In ABA, we often focus on teaching without crushing personality, humor, or connection 💚

Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes at an ABA company? 💭
This week was all about growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement ✨
Some of the things happening behind the scenes included:
💚 Strengthening quality assurance systems
💚 Creating new trainings for parent consultants
💚 Increasing support and supervision for new cases
💚 Finding new ways to better support children, families, and therapists
At Acuity, we believe great care comes from constantly learning, listening to feedback, and improving the systems that support our families 🌱
Because behind every successful session is a team working hard to make services as meaningful and supportive as possible ✨

When children know what to expect, they’re more likely to succeed. 💚
Instead of saying, “Because I said so,” try giving clear and simple expectations.
✨ First clean up, then play.
This helps children understand what comes next, reduces frustration, and creates more opportunities for positive interactions.
Clear expectations can make a big difference in everyday routines. 🌱
Sometimes the best support isn’t making a child “push through” — it’s adjusting the environment before frustration builds 💚
Breaks can be incredibly helpful when used proactively. The goal is to give support before challenging behaviors happen, not after. Small, achievable steps lead to real progress ✨
Instead of expecting a child to focus for 10 minutes right away, we build tolerance gradually:
✔️ 1 minute
✔️ 1 minute + 10 seconds
✔️ Then slowly increase over time
That’s how we create learning experiences that feel successful, not stressful.

Sometimes the biggest achievements don’t look big at all. 💚
✨ Asking for help instead of crying.
⏳ Waiting one extra minute.
👋 Saying hello to someone new.
⭐ Following a direction the first time.
These moments may seem small, but they represent meaningful growth, learning, and confidence.
In ABA, we celebrate every step forward—because small wins often lead to bigger successes.
Take a moment today to recognize and celebrate the progress happening around you. 💚

Keeping a change of clothes, socks, or other comfort items on hand can help children feel more comfortable and supported throughout the day.
For some children, wet clothes, unexpected messes, or sensory sensitivities can be overwhelming. Planning ahead allows families to meet those needs quickly so children can focus on learning, playing, and enjoying their experiences.
Every child is unique, and finding simple strategies that support their individual needs can make daily routines a little smoother. ✨
