"Design is not subjective." — Massimo Vignelli, world renowned Italian modernist designer
Proportion, hierarchy, contrast—these are not opinions. They're principles.
Good design follows structure. Bad design ignores it and calls it "creative freedom."
Here's the hard truth: When someone says "design is subjective," they're usually defending a choice they can't explain.
Your logo should work at 2 inches and 20 feet. Your typography should be readable. Your layout should guide the eye where you want it to go. These aren't matters of taste. They're fundamentals.
You can like or dislike a color palette. But a hierarchy that doesn't work? That's not subjective. That's just broken.
Design has rules. Good designers know when to follow them and when to break them intentionally. Bad design just breaks them accidentally and hopes no one notices.

Sharing the journey! Owner and Creative Director, Michele Kelly of Graphicways Design, had the pleasure of presenting to the Milford Business Alliance leads group at the Milford Chamber of Commerce. 🎤
This time around, Michele opened up about her path into the industry — the pivotal moments that brought her onto the field and how she's navigated and adapted to the ever-changing landscape along the way.
We're so grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring business community right here in Milford. 💙 Thank you Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, CT!
We left yesterday's scholarship luncheon completely inspired.
The Network of Executive Women, Milford honored twelve scholarship recipients with scholarships and every story hit differently.
Women going back to school while working full time. Moms pursuing certifications between drop-offs and bedtime. Career changers taking the leap despite the fear.
These aren't just scholarships. They're investments in futures. In families. In women who refuse to give up on themselves.
Hearing their stories reminded us why community matters. Why women supporting women isn't just a hashtag—it's how real change happens.
Proud to be part of this organization. Proud of every single recipient.
Kudos to the Scholarship Chair Debbie Siena - SecurityNational Mortgage Company and the Scholarship Committee for planning such a beautiful event!
