We had a good time playing paintball with our youth and kids! Everyone had a good time and all we hear is “when can we come back?”

MAG Student Ministries back to school party and bible study! We had such a great group to kick off our monthly bible study.

Christians make excuse after excuse as to why they cant praise God. “Im tired, i dont feel good, my back hurts, ive had a bad week, a bad day, i lost my job, i got devastating news, its not Sunday” and the list goes on and on. The very same Christians who make excuses why they cant praise God are the same ones who jump, scream, shout and stomp at a ball game, award ceremonies, weddings, etc. God is worthy of our praise. If you are a born again Christian, you have a reason to praise Him, if you are reading this post, you have a reason to praise Him, if you have breathe in your lungs, you have a reason to praise Him.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow and worship Nebuchadnezzar. Knowing that they will be thrown in to the firey furnace, they still refused to bow and worship Nebuchadnezzar because they knew that God would deliver them! Will you bow to the “gods” of this world? Even if you know that refusing to will result in great punishment? Or will you refuse to bow to anything or anyone other than God Himself, trusting he will protect and deliver you? Because of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego‘s faith, God not only delivered them, He was with them in the furnace and when they came out, they were not singed, burned, or even have the smell of smoke on them.

We are living in the day of “Casual Christianity”. Casual Christians want to be numbered among the flock but could care less about following the Sheppard. They want the forgiveness the cross brings but never intend to carry their own cross. They want warm, fuzzy moments on Sunday mornings but offer no commitment to Jesus on any other day of the week. They say they want the preacher to preach truth but get mad or their feelings hurt when he does. They claim they love God with all their heart but yet the love of money and/or worldly possessions (stuff) has become more important than their relationship with the Lord. They want the Pastor to pour into their kids lives and lead them in ways of God but yet they refuse to lead them themselves at home. They really just want the crown without the cross. These are just a few examples.

In Matthew 16 Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

To do this, we MUST deny ourselves, DAILY! Just one day a week, or even six days a week isn’t enough. It has to be a total and complete commitment. Going to church on Sunday isn’t good enough, we need to surrender to Him every day.

When you pray, do you pray just out of routine? When you pray, do you pray in confidence? Do you truly believe what you are praying for?
Many Christians get caught up in praying as a routine of their daily life. Prayer isn’t a routine, its a way of life. When you pray, be bold and pray in confidence. When you pray, truly believe what you are praying for. Do you need healing in your body? Believe God will heal you. Do you need peace about something? He is the Prince of Peace, believe for peace. Are you praying for a lost loved one? Believe they will be saved.
