As you know, agents can only write individual coverage during open enrollment unless there is a qualifying event. You have 60 days from the QE to enroll and they require proof.

Examples of a Qualifying Event:

-Involuntary loss of other coverage; losing job-based coverage, Medicaid/CHIP eligibility, aging off a parent's plan.
-Household changes; marriage, divorce, legal separation
-Adding dependents through birth, adoption, placement in foster care
-Death of policyholder or dependent resulting in a loss of coverage
-Residence change to a new zip code or county
