Join us this fall as explorers engage in fun nature play while honing in the skills we use to direct, shift, and sustain our attention. We'll use these building blocks of focus to help kids strengthen this important skill. Trial classes this week only have a few spots left. Took the boys to to see different artists' point of view and stopped at nearby Gloria Molina Grand Park first. Just being able to explore the park and play with water really helped them get settled so they could be present while at the museum. Even my 5yo enjoyed the art. The Disney Hall is also on the same street. A wonderful treat taking the train with for a stress free, fun ride. Kids ride free and adult day pass is $15 weekday and $10 on weekends with free transfers and bus rides in L.A.

What a weekend! These boys killed it on the pitch and won every single game of the tournament in over 100° heat! They played so well as a team and took their first cup home. David was so happy to be part of this incredible milestone.

火鍋 Hot pot night! Kids love this family dinner activity as they cook, mix, and learn as well. Hot pot originated over a thousand years ago, and it symbolizes community because it brings people together sharing food from a pot (Stone Soup anyone?) Kids love to make their own food, create their own dipping sauces, and pair them with different proteins and veggies. Ryan was quite taken by the shrimp turning color as they cooked, and he even tried new foods on his own 🥳 (he isn't quite as adventurous about food as the other 2) Make dinner fun and easy tonight and try a homestyle hot pot!

Happy !! As I recover from my meniscus surgery, I'm so thankful for Mother Nature and its healing power both mentally and physically. Scientific research shows that when our skin comes into contact with the ground, we are literally grounded energetically as the earth's electrons flow through us, promoting healing, cleansing, and bringing balance to our own energy. This is one of the reasons I love having our explorers outdoors so they can feel and learn how important nature is to our well-being besides just being so beautiful and inspiring.

Happy ! Perfect timing for our beaver lesson as our explorers build with boxes, containers, and cups. Our lil beavers (海狸)used creativity while learning STEM concepts.

Unfortunately, the second one emerged while we were away and had fallen on its wings. Not sure how long it was laying on the ground, but when I found it I thought we had lost it. I thought of just gently present a small stick near its legs and right away it grasp onto the stick and climbed on. This one is a fighter, we'll keep a close eye on it.

Our groundhogs were quite happy with the dens our explorers built. It was quite a lot of work, but satisfying. Some even gathered food for storage and others found some cool creatures around our classroom. Mother nature always has something special for us.

冰蟲!Ice worms! This has always been one of my favorite classes, I just love watching the explorers studying the ice blocks and how the salt and ice affect each other. All the different strategies they come up with to free the colorful "worms" and special toy I hide inside. See those beautiful, satisfied faces in the end? So proud of their persistence and the learning in their play.

Excitement is growing in our household as we await another monarch to emerge. Did you know that they are slated to be listed in the federal registry of endangered species this year? 🙁 Our mascot Rocca was a very special monarch who inspired us in our mission to empower children to become confident, independent thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners through fun learning experiences that connect them with nature and their inner selves. You can learn about Rocca's determination in this post 👉 https://www.instagram.com/p/Co2mQFePwoT/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
We hope to catch this one in action when the time comes 🤞

Some highlights from our first lessons as we found our tools to help us persist while we explored our winter classroom. One of the classes got to have some rainy day fun as they showed their superpower of playing outdoors all 4 seasons. Stay tuned to see how our explorers showed focus and persistence in our ice worm lesson.
