Blue Spring is the winter home (November-March) for an ever-increasing population of the endagered Florida manatee, as well as being a favorite recreation area. Visitors may hike the 4-mile trail through pine flatwoods and cypress swamp, or marvel at the 1872 Thursby House that sits atop an ancient Timucuan shell midden.

Alerts and Important Information
Volusia County Fire Services has issued an outdoor burn ban effective 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18. Under the burn ban, all outdoor burning, unless authorized by the Florida Division of Forestry, is prohibited. This includes bonfires, campfires, warming fires and cooking fires. Outdoor cooking done with a contained gas or charcoal grill (excluding a fire pit) is the only exception.
Please make sure you have the correct Blue Spring State Park. This park is located in Volusia County on the St. Johns River near Orange City, Florida.
Blue Spring is a designated manatee refuge. To Provide a safe warm water refuge for manatees during the winter season, the spring and the spring run is closed to all water related activities including swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving and boating from November 15 through March 1.
The park gates close at sunset. If you plan to arrive late please contact the park prior to 5 PM on the day of your arrival.
Pets are welcome overnight in all the camping parks. Pet rules apply.
