This past Thursday, the Oradell Police Department, Oradell Emergency Management (OEM), Oradell Fire Department, and Oradell Oradell Public School (OPS), along with Bergen County Office of Emergency Management OEM, worked together on a full-scale evacuation exercise to relocate students and staff to a reunification site.

This exercise is part of our contingency action plan, which was developed to better prepare for emergency incidents throughout the borough, not just those involving OPS.

Participating agencies included the Paramus Police Department New Milford NJ Police Department, Westwood Police Department, Emerson Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff's Office and Washington Township Police.

This is an example of our ongoing commitment to training, preparedness, and finding new ways to protect and serve our residents.

Thank you to all of the assisting agencies for their support and partnership.

The Oradell Police Department was once again privileged to participate in this year’s New Jersey Chief for a Day program and spend a memorable day with our 2026 Chief for a Day, Emmie Jablonski.

Chief Emmie's day began with a ride in an Oradell Fire Truck with a police es**rt to Oradell Public School. Once arriving at OPS, Chief Emmie was met by classmates, teachers and OPS staff lining the streets. From there, Emmie toured police headquarters, got to sit in the Chief's chair and of course got to enjoy Dunkin Donuts.

The next stop was the Bergen County Courthouse in Hackensack, where Emmie joined fellow honorary chiefs and their families for a wonderful event filled with a K-9 demonstration and pictures.

The day concluded with a full motorcade procession to Englewood for a luncheon ceremony.

Representing the Oradell Police Department throughout the day were Chief David Gangemi, PO Brennen Page, Sgt Zeszotarski, PO Hartophilis and Assistant to the Chief Jan McBride, all of whom helped make the experience special for Chief Emmie.

Thank you, Chief Emmie and the Jablonski Family, for allowing us to be part of your special day. We hope you enjoyed your day as Chief of Oradell Police Department!

The FAA is attempting to educate drone enthusiasts prior to the start of the FIFA World Cup games. Unauthorized flights will be subject to fines in area TFR’s. We don’t know at this time if Oradell will be under the controlled air space but with all the events in the area the next two months, we advise that you check before you fly.
