Ray Hedger Fabrication 04/30/2026

The Ray Hedger Fabrication apparel store is now live on our website. There will also be a memorial race for Ray at Oswego Speedway on May 30, 2026. Ray was a dear friend to Co-owner of FLD Matt Janczuk.

Here are a few snippets from an article Ray's Brother Ron Hedger wrote incase you don't know the legend that was Ray Hedger!

-Hedger’s racing career had many facets, ranging from fielding NASCAR modifieds for veteran Dick Clark, shepherding his brother Randy to a pair of NASCAR modified championships at the Shangri-La Speedway and fabricating numerous small block supermodifieds for Oswego Speedway, where he was honored with membership in the Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame.

-His “house cars,” wheeled by Russ Brown, consistently held the Oswego track record and numerous other drivers had great success in his ever-evolving designs as well. Four of Brown’s five Oswego SBS championships came driving a car out of Hedger’s shop.
Hedger was also known in the New York racing community for “tweaking” both dirt and asphalt cars of all types and making them significantly faster. Additionally, he served as crew chief for the NASCAR Whelan modified tour and Craftsman Truck efforts of New Jersey based Bruce Driver and Tony Vecchio’s NASCAR Busch North car driven by Jerry Marquis. Another Busch North program saw Russ Brown driving a car owned by his father, Doug.

-Hedger was also highly regarded for the unique hot rods he built after retiring. A master of the English Wheel, he was nationally known for fabricating body parts for antique car restorations and restoring old signs and gas pumps.

Ray Hedger Fabrication This store will close on Monday May 11, 2026. Once the store is closed the shirts will be ordered, printed, and then shipped. THEY WILL NOT BE SHIPPED AS SOON AS YOUR ORDER IS PLACED. The shirts are not made yet and will need to be printed once all orders are in. Thank you for your ordering and keep...

As much as we love creativity and new technology, we want to let our customers know that we will not be accepting AI generated images for signage, screen printing, or embroidery orders.

Here’s why:

Low Resolution Issues: Most AI images are not created in high enough quality for printing, which leads to blurry or pixelated results when scaled. This is especially true for signage when you are stretching the image much larger.

Layering Problems: AI designs are typically flattened images, meaning we can’t properly separate colors or layers for vinyl and screen printing.

Inconsistent Details: AI often creates distorted lines, uneven shapes, and small inconsistencies that don’t translate well. I’m sure you’ve noticed a few extra fingers on a person in an AI generated image online!

Embroidery Limitations: Fine details, gradients, and fuzzy edges from AI designs when digitized make it harder to produce clean, good quality embroidery.

Copyright Concerns: AI generated artwork can sometimes pull from existing designs, which creates potential legal issues for both you and our business.

At Finish Line Designs, we take pride in delivering clean, high quality apparel and signage and that starts with artwork that’s correctly formatted. We’re more than happy to help recreate or redesign an image in a SIMILAR manner but we will not copy the image.

Thank you for understanding and continuing to support our small business! 💙

Love doing work for these guys! Always making cool combinations and it makes our job so much fun!

Apparently Past Prime is primarily a hat company.

We occasionally gather our employees and allow them to perform music in public as a team building exercise.

This week’s exercise will take place in ST Johnsville tomorrow!!
