If you’re getting tattooed this time of year, please keep in mind that proper aftercare is SO important for how your tattoo heals and how it will look long term. 🖤

🚫 Avoid direct sun exposure

Fresh tattoos are extremely sensitive, and too much sun can cause:
• Fading and loss of detail
• Irritation, blistering, or even scarring
• Delayed healing

Try to keep your tattoo covered when you’re outdoors and avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least 2–3 weeks. Please wait until your tattoo is fully healed before applying sunscreen.

🌊 Avoid swimming

As tempting as it is this time of year, please avoid pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, and hot tubs while your tattoo is healing.

Swimming too soon can:
• Increase the risk of infection
• Affect how the ink settles
• Slow down the healing process

Most tattoos need about 2–4 weeks to fully heal, but everyone heals a little differently.

Your tattoo is an investment, and taking care of it during these first few weeks makes a huge difference in preserving the detail, color, and overall quality for years to come. 🫶🏼
