Field hockey has its own rules. The scoring software should too.
Most field hockey programs have been scored on systems shared with other sports — and the gap between what the sport deserves and what it's had is easy to overlook. Four quarters. A card-based penalty system. Clock stoppages that don't work like any other sport. A lacrosse or soccer template wasn't built for this.

Dylan Hooper at Nikiski High School, AK was upfront about his apprehension when it came to wireless scoreboards and cloud-based systems. But after making the switch to ScoreVision Basic Scoring, the response from his community and from visiting teams told the whole story.
"When visiting schools come and play in our gym for the first time and they look up at that scoreboard, they see something they're not used to seeing in a high school gym."
That moment of surprise? Worth it every time.
Some gyms just have a different energy. Papillion-La Vista South girls basketball brings the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why high school sports matter.

Game night at St. John Vianney High School hits different.
Before every indoor game, the lights go down, the rafter lighting spins up, and the hype video rolls. By the time the ball tips off, the whole gym is locked in — students, parents, and yes, even the visiting team.
Athletic Director Mike Podsue put it best — swipe to see what he had to say.

Empty student sections are frustrating — but they're not inevitable.
