It's been a unusually busy summer - don't usually travel a lot, but this year I have. Haven't let my camera gather dust though, still managed to get out and do some good shoots.

It's been almost a month since I've posted something of my own hasn't it? Wow.
I embarked on my annual trip up north and enjoyed myself quite thoroughly as usual two weeks ago. For my first time taking my camera up there (rather than just relying on my iphone), I didn't get/take as many shots as I had envisioned beforehand. Still, I got a few good ones and was able to tweak them to my satisfaction here.

It got unbelievably hot this weekend (95 - 100F) and against my better judgement, I tossed my camera in my bag, tossed it over my shoulder and hit the trail. I ended up sweaty, sore and thoroughly exhausted at the end (after a 26mi ride), but for this shot and a few others, it was definitely worth it.

(This bridge has been out of commission for a while, but interestingly enough is being preserved for contingency purposes.

A shot a buddy of mine shared to a group has stoked the creative juices here. Haven't been down to since I got my Nikon (and really, the last time I was there, I couldn't stick around long). With all the PTO I got saved up, I think some day-tripping this summer is going to be in order.

My area's been lucky for the most part and escaped a lot of the bad weather that bedeviled certain parts of the country this past week. We have been left with some pretty eerie fog though (which I tried to make a bit moreso after I got the original shot off my phone and cleaned it up a bit).
