My kid is dope. Full stop! She was on a creative vibe this whole weekend; as I walk out of the office, where I was prototyping a new piece for HVYCRWN by RDQLUS, I find that she’s created these incredible cutesy bug accessories from a package or pipe cleaners we have from another one of our many daddy+daughter projects. The highlights included her own bumblebee ankle antennae, and my super vibe’y antennae a thumb ring. I’m so seriously impressed. Time to create her own imprint under the empire!

From the RDQLUS archives, 2012; revisiting some innovative monogramming with custom interwoven vector letter forms, using vector halftones for shading and implied lighting to give visual dimensionality in flat space… and still maintaining complete scalability for brand use and reproduction integrity in all mediums. Just wanted to kick off the week with something dope from my way-back machine.

12 years ago, sitting in my neighborhood Starbucks, I did a quick sketch while listening to OutKast and feeling a bit nostalgic about my days in the Hood. Someday I wanted my very own “Cadillac” symbol, as that was once the standard of street nobility where I’m from. Jump to yesterday; concept to completion in the time it took you to go to sleep, wake up, get to work and finish your coffee… and I slept too 😉 But don’t ask me how long it takes me—ask me how dope I am at what I do, and what it’s all worth. “Caddy Crest” | HVYCRWN by RDQLUS.

Irony is… my anxiety surely shortened my life over time, while still forcing me to live limitless timelines simultaneously because there’s never a moment where I haven’t worked out all scenarios, all the time. I’m a walking multiverse just to make it through my day. LOL 😂 SMH 🤦🏾♂️
