Hey Omaha pet community!

Monday night I presented Pet CPR & First-aid to a group of Girl Scouts and they completely blew me away! They presented me with a massive donation of pet first-aid supplies that were meant to be distributed to Lost Pets of Omaha Area volunteers. We're talking blankets, bandages, gauze pads, alcohol wipes, and a whole lot more. My car was literally packed to the roof.

Long story short: there are more supplies than there are volunteers to receive them, and I don't want any of this to sit in a box.

If you run a pet-related business in the Omaha area — grooming, boarding, training, rescue, dog walking, whatever — and you'd like a free pet first aid kit to keep on hand in case you ever come across an injured animal, reach out! I'm happy to meet you or deliver.

That's hard to say, but it's exactly why this work matters. Most people don't think about pet first aid until they're in the middle of an emergency. That's the worst time to realize you don't know what to do.

Today was the kind of day that makes my pet-loving heart do backflips. 🐾💚

The Grand Island Kennel Club crew showed up ready to roll up their sleeves and learn how to be true heroes for their pets at a FurstAid CPR & First-Aid class. The energy in the room was electric, the questions were thoughtful, and the commitment to their animals was crystal clear. This is what responsible pet guardianship looks like.

And of course… Juniper reported for duty as our official little Furst Responder demo dog. 🐶✨ She may give me that legendary side-eye that says, “Really, Mom?” but the second I need to demonstrate a restraint, a bandage, or CPR/rescue breathing, she’s all in. Calm, patient, and completely professional. She earns every single treat and cuddle she gets from me and the class members.

Watching everyone practice skills that could one day save their own pet’s life is powerful. Emergencies are loud, chaotic moments, but knowledge brings calm. Today, this group chose confidence over panic. That is love in action.

So proud of this group for investing their time to become their pets’ heroes. 💪🐕🐈
