Owning a recording studio and dealing with clients is really just walking a tightrope barefoot over alligators. 🎤🐊�They ask for your honest opinion as an audio engineer… but what they really want is for you to agree with the version they already heard in their head.
But I ain’t in their heads🤯
One little note correction and now I “don’t understand the vision.” and I’m a hater...Damm🤦🏾‍♂️

I run a mixing session, not a daycare after dark.

Kid songs for kids. Adult songs for adults. The studio has boundaries.

POV: You own a recording studio and your client books a 4-hour session… just to take a nap. 😴🎙️
My guy came in high, drunk, or spiritually visiting another dimension. Says he needs to “finish writing.” Cool.
An hour goes by. Silence.
I peek in the booth… he’s stretched out on the couch like it’s a luxury Airbnb. Fully knocked out.
What should I do? Let him cook or let him snore? 🎧🔥

Owning a studio is wild 😂 Clients: “Turn my headphones up.”
Me: “They’re already at 100.”
Client: “Nah, I can’t hear it.”
Me: Sir… your ears are TIRED, not my equipment 🎧😩
Ear fatigue is real. Your ears will quit before the session does 😵‍💫


Owning a studio means watching rappers create new words in real time.🎚️😌
I ask one innocent question and suddenly I’m the villain in the session 😂

Owning a studio really teaches you patience… because why am I mixing vocals AND holding my breath at the same time?? 😵‍💫🎧
Client left the studio…
His body odor didn’t.😭🎛️

Studio rules getting outta hand 😂
Eating chips? Pause.
I sip tea? Pause. ☕
Grinch cup on the desk? Pause. 🎄
Relax… everything ain’t gay, I’m just hydrated, focused and love The Grinch. 🎚️😭


Studio rule #1: if we’re sharing a control room, we’re sharing air.
Rule #2: when the engineer offers a mint, it’s not a suggestion.
I’m being polite… but trust me, you need it. 😭
