Who knew one click could be so costly?
Cyber criminals use a variety of scams to trick you into clicking on URLS. The most common ones are:
🖱️Misleading URLS: URLs disguised as links to secure websites, oftentimes disguised as “Click here” for a fake offer or promotion.

🖱️Shortened URLs: URLs shortened to make them easier to view and share can also be used to lead you to a malicious website.

🖱️Insecure websites: If a URL starts with HTTP, it’s an insecure link. HTTPS show that the URL is secure and protected against unauthorized users.

Keep yourself safe by hovering over links before clicking them to make sure they’re secure. Or just go to the organizations site directly to confirm it’s legitimacy. Above all, be wary of any links you weren’t expecting to see.
