Samples worked and sent, some new and interesting tests are keeping Bob on his toes.

Bob tore the press apart and redesigned it to function better with this pressing style.
Press re-welded, a proper sized color clay unit finished, stencils received, parts pressing about to happen! This is truly an antique process . . .

Processes! Learning some old ways to recreate tiles. Bob is thrilled to be working out processes.

29 set in the ground, (now on pedestals) Hoagy Carmichael, Homer Rodeheaver, Alberta Hunter, Duke Ellington Jelly Roll Morton, Charlie Patton, Ernest and Hattie Stoneman, Fats Waller, Gene Autry, New Orleans Rhythm Kings, Fletcher Henderson, Bix Beiderbecke, Red Nichols, Artie Shaw, Big Bill Broonzy, Sidney Bechet, Vernon Dalhart, Lonnie Johnson, Uncle Dave Macon, Lawrence Welk, Pace Jubilee Singers, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bradley Kincaid, Louis Armstrong, Coleman Hawkins, King Oliver, Guy Lombardo, Wendell Hall, “Georgia Tom” Dorsey are in the walk, newly refurbished.

There are 6 others in town at different sites, they include Jimmy Durante, William Jennings Bryan, Doc Roberts & Asa Martin, Scrapper Blackwell, Baileys Lucky Seven, and Roosevelt Sykes.

We did these tiles using our own version of encaustic. A cool process we have used in many ways, this being the most fun and interesting!

In, but not grouted. Grouting tomorrow, there are some other newly grouted areas in need, hit too soon with power wash . . .

Bob is in the decorated remnant building heating up the bronze label and donor plaque to receive patina. Worked pretty well, looked suspicious to others!
