Outside landscaping and overdue trimming begins. After much thought I've decided to take out the old sign structure. I would be remiss if I didn't ask David Caniglia if he wanted some of the stones or anything from it. More pics to follow.

The new multipurpose iso section of tracking room is near completion. Now we can isolate the piano, drums, guitar, Hammond, etc.

Johnny Gomez is pleased to announce the recent purchase of the new OnTrack Recording Studio facility located at 805 Hickory Street - Omaha, Ne. 68108 ~ Originally built in 1980 by the Caniglia family "Mr. C's". The control and live rooms were designed for optimal acoustic clarity by Tom Hidley, the father of acoustic design at Westlake Audio. Hidley’s rooms have recorded and produced some of the biggest names in the industry. The Caniglia's spared no expense turning the former grocery store into a top of the line studio and flew in the best studio designer money could buy to build a room just like the one that recorded Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. Tom Hidley’s rooms have recorded some of the biggest names in the music business. The facility is a perfect fit for the operation of OnTrack's current clientele, providing original music creation and audio post production services to the advertising industry. "This really has come full circle Gomez say's, I actually toured this place with David Caniglia when it was being built, I was only 13 years old. I never would have imagined I would someday be able to own this awesome place". With the added tracking room and other audio and video suites within the 4000 square foot facility, OnTrack will now offer full band, ensemble recording and rehearsal studio services. The facility is currently being renovated and updated with some modern amenities and some needed technical and equipment updates. "My goal here is to keep the integrity of what Tom Hidley designed but just give it a light twist of modern day updates that will allow the recording space to have more of an open tracking room sound and client friendly amenities, Gomez says". I Just learned Lesley Gore passed away from cancer today. I had the pleasure of conducting and playing piano for her many times. The first time I played for her I was only 17. The last time I played for her I was 21 and it was at the Forum in Los Angeles, big 50's - 60's revival concert with many acts. I remember playing an instrumental song on the piano after soundcheck, it was the theme song to the movie Terms Of Endearment. Lesley came up to me and told me that I played that song quite beautifully. I said, well it's a great song and thank you… She replied, I know…my brother wrote it! What?? I was embarrassed, surprised and happy to learn this. Michael Gore is an accomplished film composer, they wrote the FAME song "Out Here On My Own" together. I remember telling her that I was going back to Omaha to start my own recording business. She told me to keep playing piano and to write my own music. Happy memory with her. Rest in peace Lesley….Johnny

Clark & Company in the studio mixing their new album Larger World with Johnny Ray Gomez IV.

Check out a new up-coming group from Omaha, Clark & Company. Recorded at OnTrack studios, produced by Johnny Ray Gomez IV. Clark & Company’s second album, “Larger World,” was released Friday, Nov. 28 at The Slowdown in Omaha.

Clark & Company was created by 17-year-old triplets from Omaha, Ne., with Sophie Clark on keyboard and vocals, Cooper Clark on acoustic and electric bass, and Simon Clark on drums and percussion. Sophie is also the songwriter for the group.

The band’s first album, “Three of Swords,” also produced by OnTrack, was released in January 2014. One of the songs from this album, “Battle Cry,” was named a finalist in the 10th Annual International Acoustic Music Awards, in the Best Group/ Duo category.

The band is also a nominee in the 2015 Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards, in the R&B / Soul category.

Clark & Company’s music incorporates many acoustic sounds and styles, including singer/songwriter, blues, soul, soft rock, and many other influences. Songwriter Sophie Clark is inspired by her own experiences and those of others, and she often uses metaphors in her lyrics. Her goal as a songwriter is for people to connect to her music in a way that is personal to them.

Sophie, Cooper, Simon and Cameron are seniors at Westside High School in Omaha.
