Adoption Alert for Dexter! This amazing boy was a local surrender as his loving family had to move out of state for cancer treatments. He was truly one of our best and we knew it the moment we picked him up from this heartbreaking situation.

Dexter was adopted and has gone right back into a fantastic loving home. He gets walks, socialization and plenty of love! Although we miss this boy, we know he’s in his forever home! Thank you for choosing adoption and Dexter, Blake! We also want to wish all best to his previous mom during her treatments! Keep being the great boy you are Dex!

Adoption Alert for Luna! Luna came to us very apprehensive but we knew a little time, patience and love would bring her out of her shell!

And, wow, did we find the perfect family for her! Miss Luna now has 2 amazing parents and 2 children to love on her! In addition, she is thriving on the attention and her daily walks! This girl hit a home run with her new family!

For the third year in a row, our friends at Hy-Vee (Applewood) hosted their amazing Ribs for Rescues event for us today, with 10% of all rib sales benefiting Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska. And once again… they SOLD OUT! 🎉

We had supporters stop by from Lincoln, Plattsmouth, Bennington, Council Bluffs, Glenwood, Gretna, Blair, and beyond. While this wasn’t a supply drive, many of you still showed up with donations and monetary gifts for the animals in our rescue. Our adoptable pups received lots of attention, the weather was perfect, and we loved getting the chance to visit with so many wonderful people.

Whether you stopped by to say hello, meet the dogs, make a donation, or buy some delicious ribs, thank you!! Your support means the world to us and to the animals we serve. We truly have some of the best supporters a rescue could ask for. A huge thank you as well to the incredible team at Applewood Hy-Vee for putting on such an awesome event! Your generosity and community support help make our lifesaving work possible. 💜

We received quite a bit of interest in our adoptable dogs, so we expect to have a lot of applications to review over the next several days. Thank you in advance for your patience as we begin processing them.

🎉 Sweet little Tino got adopted!!! 🎉

Tino came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding and neglect case. Thanks to the patience and dedication of his amazing foster parents, he has blossomed into a happy, confident pup who truly loves life.

It was love at first sight when he met his wonderful new mama, Brenna. Now Tino will be enjoying regular walks, endless love, and the place every rescue dog dreams of… HOME ❤️

Apollo Adoption Announcement! Some dogs start out life blessed with a wonderful life and family. This was not the case with sweet Apollo.

He was given away at a gas station and thankfully to a good person who took to a shelter. The owner had just planned to dump him but fate stepped in and from the high kill shelter he made his way to Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska. Apollo had a fantastic foster dad that is a shepherd fan and taught him so much! Soon this 4 month old puppy was ready to find his amazing family.

It wasn’t long before Apollo’s shepherd family found him! He now has a fantastic loving mom, dad and older shepherd brother named Zeus! He is living life as an adored family member and only happiness is ahead for Apollo!

We are grateful that Nicole and Micha chose adoption and our handsome Apollo!

Sweet Buffy (far left on dad’s lap) got adopted! 💕

After spending her prior life undersocialized, Buffy learned that walks, people, and new adventures aren’t so scary thanks to her amazing foster mom and fur brother. Watching her come out of her shell was such a joy!

Now she’s off to living her best life ever with the Rahn family, devoted Poodle lovers who are ready to give her all the love, cuddles, and lap time she could ever want. Congratulations to this crew thank you for always choosing adoption! 🐩
