Intercity Transit
Intercity Transit provides public transportation in Thurston County and its Urban Growth Area. Intercity Transit is an equal opportunity employer. to 5 p.m.
Intercity Transit is a municipal corporation that provides public transportation for people who live and work in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, and Yelm, an area of approximately 94 square miles. We operate 21 bus routes, a door-to-door service for people with disabilities, a vanpool program, specialized van programs, and are active in community partnerships. This page is monitored Monday through Frida
Side quests are encouraged! Don’t have anything in mind? Hop on a route you’ve never taken and get off at a random stop to take a 10-minute walk (or walk to another bus stop!). Try to take the longest way home instead of the fastest. Ask your driver if they have a favorite bus stop, then map a route and head over to it. Take your usual route but look out the window the entire time. Make a note of any cool spots you see and come back to explore them. Or just hop on the bus and go to your favorite spots—every ride is free, so why not explore?

Did you know? Intercity Transit conducts CDL testing for our newest Operators (drivers) in our own bus yard! It's another beautiful day for CDL testing, and the course is coned off so that new drivers can show off skills like conducting a pre-trip vehicle inspection, bus handling, backing maneuvers and more. Our supportive and robust paid training program makes it easy for anyone to join the Intercity Transit team—no CDL required! We regularly hire Operators in groups, allowing us to train new CDL classes together and celebrate their graduation as a group. Keep an eye out for openings at intercitytransit.com/employment.
