Our bagels are boiled in honey water creating a rich, sweet chewy bagel then baked to a crispier finish.

Our unique use of honey, coconut oil and artesian well water and our Nettle bagel make them what we call an Olympia-style bagel.

UPDATE: shop closing, gratitude, support

This is Chrisstine Gulrajani, posting on behalf of the Dealan-de family. They’ve asked me to come here to thank everyone who supported Adam’s Bagels, and the dream Adam Dealan-de was building with it, one hand-rolled bagel at a time.

Your kind, heartfelt comments on the post with the news of his passing mean the world to his loved ones, and the tremendous outpouring of support from not just the community of friends who had a personal relationship with Adam, but also from all those who did business with him over the years, has made a real difference during this heartbreaking time.

To all those who’ve extended their kind wishes, provided meals, shared memories, and been so generous with their time and donations in the wake of his passing, THANK YOU.

While Adam had a few part-time employees over the years and frequently talked with my husband, Erich, about plans for expansion, he was still in the stage of operating Adam’s Bagels as a one-man shop. Therefore, at this point it looks like Adam’s Bagels will be closing its doors for good.

TW: grief, death

Adam's Bagels is closed indefinitely. Early this morning, while baking, Adam Dealan-de experienced a sudden cardiac event. We lost him despite the incredible efforts of the EMTs who responded. His friends and family are grieving, and we appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

15 YEARS AND 2 HOURS DRIVE!
Customer just shared their story about being from Virginia and how he used to take his daughter to a local bagel shop back in the day.

She loved the Chocolate Chip bagel and it has been 15 years since. He has been looking for them out here to no avail. Then he found me and my chocolate sea salt bagels!

So the dad came by and got them and is driving them the 2 hours to Portland to surprise her.

I love that my bagels become a part of family and memories! The bagel has a story that touches so many people.
