Sure, anyone can tell a dad joke. Not everyone earns the title. Today we celebrate the ones who do.
Here's to the dads, stepdads, grandpas, mentors and father figures who’ve saved our bacon more times than we can count. Thank you for showing up to lend a hand and for — somehow — never running out of puns. 🥓 Happy Father’s Day!

On this day in 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to spread the word, once and for all, that enslaved people were finally freed. As we celebrate this day, we also acknowledge that the promise of financial freedom has not been equally realized by Black Americans.

From redlining to ongoing lending disparities, unequal access to fair credit, homeownership and wealth-building opportunities has impacted generations of Black families and communities.

Today, we look at that history and see there is still work to be done. We believe progress requires both awareness and action, expanding access and building trust so all our members can thrive. These aren’t just words. Making resources like the Welcome Home Grant and the First-time Homebuyers program available is a priority in our mission to making all of our members’ financial dreams come true. Today and every day of the year.

They say taking a walk as often as possible is highly beneficial. 🌲⚾ Here's a quick update on the WSECU Walks in the Park program to prove that's science fact:
Thanks to every Mariners home game walk so far this season, we’ve donated $25,600 to the Washington State Parks Foundation. We love the outdoors and green spaces, especially those in our beautiful state, so let's keep 'em coming!
Turns out patience at the plate pays off for more than just baseball. 💚

It’s June: Pride is the vibe and the flags are flying! Look around and you’ll see rainbow colors everywhere. 🌈
But did you know behind every stripe, color and design is a deeper story?
What started with Gilbert Baker’s Pride flag in 1978 has continued to grow and evolve alongside the LGBTQIA+ community, becoming a symbol that reflects more voices, experiences and identities.
Along the way came:
✨ 1999: Monica Helms’ Trans Pride flag, adding light blue, pink and white to represent trans people, transition and inclusion.
✨ 2017: The “More Color, More Pride” flag added black and brown stripes to center LGBTQIA+ people of color and expand representation within the Pride movement.
✨ 2018: Today’s Progress Pride flag, designed by Daniel Quasar. The chevron points forward, symbolizing movement and the progress still ahead, because Pride can only continue to grow when everyone is included.
At WSECU, we’re proud to support spaces and communities where people can show up as themselves, during Pride Month and beyond. ❤️
Look for local events like fairs, parades, concerts, marches and more to join in the celebration of inclusion and diversity this month and, honestly, every month! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
