Good morning everyone. We’re wrapping up the weekend on a warm and humid note across the Mid-South, but changes are on the way as an unsettled weather pattern develops through the upcoming week. A cold front moving in by Wednesday will bring increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms that may linger into next weekend.
For today, expect mostly sunny skies and another warm afternoon. High temperatures will climb to around 88 degrees, with south winds at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Tonight stays mild and humid, with lows only falling to around 72.
As we head into Monday, we’ll keep partly sunny skies in place with temperatures warming into the upper 80s. South winds will continue at 10 to 15 miles per hour, and while most areas stay dry, there is about a 20 percent chance for an isolated afternoon shower. Overnight lows will remain in the lower 70s.
By Tuesday, clouds begin increasing ahead of the approaching cold front. Expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the middle 80s and lows in the upper 60s. Southwest winds will continue at 10 to 15 miles per hour, and rain chances increase to around 40 percent by evening, with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms developing late in the day.
Wednesday looks to be the wettest day of the forecast period. Cloudy skies are expected with widespread showers and thunderstorms likely throughout the day. High temperatures will stay cooler, only reaching the upper 70s, with overnight lows dropping into the lower 60s. Rain chances sit around 70 percent.
The unsettled pattern continues Thursday with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms remaining possible through the day. Highs will stay in the middle 70s, with lows in the middle 60s and rain chances around 60 percent.
Heading into Friday, conditions remain mostly cloudy with additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 70s, while overnight lows settle into the middle 60s.
And next Saturday, we’ll continue to hold onto mostly cloudy skies with highs near 80 degrees. Scattered showers remain possible across the region, with rain chances around 40 percent and lows in the middle 60s.

Good morning everyone, and happy Saturday. We’re tracking a weak disturbance moving across the Mid-South today, and that’s going to keep skies mostly cloudy for much of the day. There’s also about a 20 percent chance of a light shower during the morning hours, but most locations will stay dry. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour, helping temperatures climb to around 86 this afternoon. Tonight, expect cloudy to partly cloudy skies with a low around 67 degrees.
Sunday looks much better, with sunshine returning across the area. It’ll be another warm day, with highs reaching the upper 80s and overnight lows settling into the lower 70s. South winds will continue at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
As we head into Monday, we’ll keep partly cloudy skies in place with temperatures remaining above average. Afternoon highs will once again reach the upper 80s, with morning lows in the lower 70s. A stray afternoon shower can’t be ruled out, but rain chances stay low at around 20 percent.
By Tuesday, moisture begins to increase across the region. We’ll see partly sunny skies with highs in the middle 80s and a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening hours. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 60s.
Wednesday appears to be the wettest day of the upcoming week. Cloudy skies and a 70 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist through much of the day. High temperatures will stay cooler, only reaching the upper 70s, with lows dropping into the lower 60s Wednesday night.
