One Week Away: Join MIOSHA’s May 21 Situational Awareness Webinar to Help Prevent Workplace Injuries
Join MIOSHA for an important webinar focused on strengthening situational awareness to help prevent struck‑by, crush-by and caught-in incidents in the workplace.
In Michigan in 2025, 57 percent of all occupational fatalities were the result of contact accidents, underscoring the need for increased attention to changing conditions, equipment movement, and worksite surroundings.
Staying safe starts with staying aware and situational awareness is a key component of effective accident prevention. Improving the ability to recognize hazards, anticipate movement, and respond to developing risks can significantly reduce the likelihood of significant contact hazard events.
This session will cover:
Common factors that contribute to struck‑by incidents
Techniques for recognizing early warning signs and changing conditions
Practical strategies for improving attention and decision‑making
This webinar is intended for all workers, supervisors, and safety staff who play a role in maintaining safe operations at their workplace.
