Dry Stone Construction Resists Hurricane Flooding

Words from a friend of the Stone Trust:
"A friend was in the flooding in Montreat, NC. This street was washed away. What struck me is the stone wall is still standing."

It has been a long time since my last posting, and I am looking forward to sharing what I have been building.

It was great to build with fellow wallers on this historical wall in Kingston Ontario at the Kingston Frontenac public library.

The wall was documented and disassembled 16 meters long and 6 feet tall to allow a road and bridge to be made for the city of Kingston. The approximate age of the wall is 160 years old, first built in the 1860s. To preserve this wall, those 16 meters of disassembled wall were oriented to run parallel to the new road.

Urban Walling!! It’s been great getting to chat with all the pleasant folk of Methven, catching up with familiar faces and meeting potential new clients… got some copes picked today, they will be stuck on properly tomorrow 👍🏻

Dry stone walls in the woods!! Phase 1 & 2 completed this week 💪🏻

A nice combination of irregular stone walled into a formal shape. These cairns will almost act as way markers through the garden and would give structure through the winter months. Can't wait to see the garden all planted up in a couple of weeks!
