Child Life Saver

I am so anxious to see this play my cousin is directing! Have you heard of the play The Yellow Boat? I hadn’t but recently read the script and it is so beautiful!

It’s based on a story of a father, David Saar, who wrote about his son Benjamin’s experience with chronic illness and hospitalization. It also beautifully portrays his end of life experiences, where he meets a ✨CHILD LIFE SPECIALIST✨(!!!), Joy (😍), who helps him navigate his hospitalization and death.

Just the fact that there is a play about a child life specialist floored me! But then to find out it is a true story- I am overwhelmed with love for this story!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to speak with the cast about the role of child life specialists and tell them how they could do us proud! It was so fun for me to be able to share what I love and am passionate about with the actors! They asked such insightful questions and I can’t wait to see their performances!
