This Jubilee year invites us to reflect on the life of St. Francis of Assisi, a life rooted in simplicity, compassion, and love for all creation.

At Mission San Luis Rey, his spirit lives on in every quiet corner and sacred space.

This weekend Mission San Luis Rey had the honor of having a first class relic of St Anthony brought here from Padua Italy. At 7am Mass in the Historic Church, Fr. Anthony blessed the people with the relic and then they lined up to venerate the relic and touch it with rosaries, holy cards and any item that is special to them; those items will then become third class relics. The St. Anthony relic will be available in the Historic church today until 4pm and at the Parish Church until after the 7pm Mass. Don't miss this special chance to see and venerate a first class relic from one of the most popular and venerated Franciscan Saints - St. Anthony, whose feast day we celebrated yesterday.

Tonight at 7:00 PM, our historic mission's 🔔 church bells will be ringing in unison with churches across the world to celebrate the official inauguration of the Villa Vie Odyssey residential cruise ship in Manila, Philippines. The UNESCO World Center of Peace has designated the Villa Vie Odyssey as the world's first Global Flagship of Peace. It will travel the globe to encourage cultural exchange, support education, and promote environmental awareness. It is a beautiful mission of global unity that truly echoes the spirit and values of St. Francis of Assisi. 🙌🕊️

Listen for the bells tonight!
