The Student Progressive Project is a collective of Oberlin College students and organizers who believe in the ideas of the modern progressive movement.
After the 2020 election, a number of student activists at Oberlin College came together to discuss where the campaign to keep Lorain County blue went wrong, and where the push to get Oberlin’s campus activated failed. The main electoral organization on campus, the Oberlin College Democrats, was no longer finding the same success it had in previous years at creating an engaged student body, and for

“The Power of the People is Stronger than the People in Power” - Wael Ghonim.
Ghonim is an Internet activist and computer engineer with an interest in social entrepreneurship. In 2011, he became an international figure and galvanized pro-democracy demonstrations in Egypt after his emotional interview following 11 days of secret incarceration by Egyptian police. He was quoted in response to empowering people but remaining non-violent in protests.
